Laney Amplification established 1967

Laney is the signature of high quality British guitar and bass amplifiers. When Lyndon Laney needed an amp for his band in 1966, little did he know that the amp he made was the start of a long journey, a journey spanning 50 years and every continent on the planet.

From Birmingham to Bali, Berlin to Bondi Beach, we have been there and we continue to experiment and push the boundaries of technology within amplifiers. Always wishing to strive forward we have always pushed to the ‘next thing’ from having the first amplifier to have a boost channel with the KLIPP in 1972, to the first bass amplifier with a graphic EQ with the DP Range (1988) through to engaging modern recording technology inside our amps the finest example of this is the ‘studio’ range of amps that are equipped with the incredible T-USB technology, allowing you to re-amp and record your valve amplifier direct to your computer.

2019 sees the release of the MINI Laney amplifiers and the LA30BL. These two products showcase everything we are about: Innovation and Heritage.
The MINI Laney amplifiers are battery powered and can be taken wherever you go to ensure that when inspiration strikes, you can strike the right chord and with the Laney Smart Insert technology you can link your phone to the amp via the Tonebridge app! An extremely modern amplifier catering to the player on the move. On the other hand we have the LA30BL, the latest offering from Black Country Customs (the Laney custom shop), this Class A all valve 30 watt head was designed, engineered and a prototype made in 1968, however at the time the need for a 30 watt head wasn’t in demand so the plans got shelved and the prototype got stolen.

Fast forward 50 years and we heard this legendary story from Lyndon Laney himself. Now the world DOES want 30 watt valve amps and so the LA30BL was finally born. Unlike it’s bigger brother the LA100BL that was released in 50 limited edition sets in 2017, the LA30BL is in full production and is a much more practical amplifier for the modern age.Our amplifiers have graced stages across the world and been on records that have changed the world.

You can hear the ‘Laney Sound’ on thousands of records from 1967 to now including Black Sabbath, Oasis, Slade, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, KISS, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Slipknot, Razorlight, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Argent, Ben Howard, Skindred, Dire Straights, Extreme, Jake E Lee, Zak Wylde, Ritchie Kotzen, Frank Gambale, Christophe Godin, Mattias Eklundh, Vinnie Moore, Steve Vai, Simon Townsend, John 5, Wes Borland, Tom Odell and many more! What will the future hold....
